🇬🇧🇮🇳 Had a wonderful dinner at Monarch & Lion, an upscale British-Indian pub in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. We started with the Venison Scotch Egg, and it was absolutely delicious! 😋 For our mains, I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, while my love ordered the Lamb Keema Shepherd’s Pie—both were flavorful and satisfying. ❤️ A special shoutout to the gentleman who took care of us. He was incredibly nice and recommended the Date Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert—and it was the perfect sweet ending to our meal! 🍮✨ Even sweeter, he surprised us by making the dessert complimentary. Such a thoughtful gesture! Great food, warm hospitality, and a lovely dining experience. We’ll definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great place. We came in for a quick bite and we were surprised by the quality of the the food. The stake and fries were perfect for me. I asked for the stake to be cooked medium and it was as well as being perfectly seasoned . The friasea was tossed in a dressing. Very great attention to detail on that one. Fries were crisp as well. The chimi churi sauce was a great blend of salty and fat with a bit of spice. The fish and chips were spoton as well. The fish was flaky but had enough substance to it that you could eat it with a fork and has a bit of chew. Absolutely perfect.
My wife and I have become regulars here. Monarch & Lion has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Chicago. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy British pub and upscale cocktail bar, making it great whether you're stopping in for drinks or staying for dinner. The staff has always been welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which makes the experience feel personal every time. The cocktails are excellent, the food is consistently great, and the overall vibe feels both lively and comfortable without being overwhelming. What really makes the place great are the staff which have become like family. Thank you Mike, Jordan, Joey, Lupe, Adam, Chente, and everyone else for making us feel at home every time we come!
First time here. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We tried the prime rib sandwich, the fish tacos, the feta spinach mushroom omelette, and the chicken curry club sandwich. All of the food was delicious and great portions. Definitely a place to try!
