Triple Crown had pretty good ratings so we stopped by to try the dim sum. The restaurant was pretty busy but we were able to get seated right away. The dim sum menu has quite a bit of items probably over 20 items. The food was decent Chinese food it's more Americanized than we would have liked it to be. The other side of Chinatown across the other direction of Cermak Road has more authentic Chinese food. The bathrooms were clean and service was quick.
We had a great experience today. Food was good and they had quick service. For people who prefer eating halal better ask the server about the dietary restriction. Many of their food items are made in pork oil they said. They would recommend you which food is not made in pork oil. We got vegetarian food after confirming with the server.
Iconic. Consistent. Delicious. My parents have been bringing us here since we were little. The quality and consistency has never changed. There is usually a wait but it’s worth it. Family-style is a MUST. Get it all. You can’t go wrong with their dumplings, steamed buns, potstickers, and the egg tarts for dessert. Order a veggie dish and a fried rice or noodle for the table. Also a specialty dish, something Szechuan or the Peking Duck. Service is efficient and quick. The ladies don’t play. This can be off-putting if you are expecting warm, friendly service but their priority is getting hot food to the tables and precision. If you’re nice to them, they will take care of you.
The food was absolutely amazing. Some of the best General Tso’s chicken, Sweet n’ Sour chicken, and chicken fried rice that I have ever are. The servers were efficient. I was a little disturbed by the lack if access to the 2nd floor. It is not accessible for elderly or disabled people. The waiting area is also inhospitable. It is not set up well to accommodate very many people. People were standing all the way up the stairs until a table became available. The fact that people were willing to wait is a testament to the quality of food. The price is also very reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back.
A good place for dim sum! My favorite was the short ribs and pig custard buns. So cute! There was a dish that didn’t turned out like the photo so that was a little misleading but overall we enjoyed our time here.
