The service and atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. This is our second year coming here for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing time! Our server Max was awesome! Food was amazing and they even brought us 2 desserts for our anniversary. Will definitely be coming back again!
The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always had a smile on their face, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was good overall, especially the beef dumplings and Entree sea bass, both were delicious and definitely worth ordering. The wine and champagne list selection was also very nice. A special thank you to Chonlakorn (I hope I spelled your name correctly), who provided exceptional service. She was attentive, professional, and made us feel well taken care of throughout our meal.
Shanghai Terrace captures quintessential Peninsula luxury, but my mid-May visit was incredibly disappointing. While the upstairs dining area is beautiful and the Peking Duck remains a standout dish, the experience was marred by the front-of-house staff. The dining team is always excellent, but the hosting team was smug about availability. As a solo diner, I watched the hostess make exceptions for a larger party while turning me away. Only after I raised a fuss was a seat offered 15 minutes later, but the damage was done. I ordered takeout and left. After five years of enjoying this restaurant with family, this selective service felt like a personal slight. It is unfortunate to see such a high-end establishment fail at basic hospitality. Pics attached are when I came with my mother and partner. Memories of an experience past. Certainly not something I'd want to subject them to anytime soon.
An elegant high end Chinese restaurant experience with foods that we often have on tables with white plastic tablecloths. We really enjoyed the experience and the food. The service was great - fun, professional and suggestions made were terrific. Our meal of soup, dim sum, and lobster was perfectly paced and delicious. Look forward to returning to try more dishes.
We love this restaurant. It’s our go to Chinese restaurant in downtown. The service is the best. The waitress and waiters all greet you and say welcome back! It’s a very nice warm feeling. The manager, Silvia is great! Food - we always get the same thing XLB - soup dumplings Pork buns Shrimp egg rolls Spicy beef dumplings Veggies in garlic Peking duck Chicken fried rice or the Mix fried rice (Wagyu beef, chicken, duck) walnut shrimp The desserts are good too if you have room in your stomach (sago in coco it and mango) I’d highly recommend it. Restaurant is inside the Peninsula.
