You need a reservation. Luckily we had no where to go, as the Pizza took an hour to bake, they were able to bring kids meal first so that helped us avoid a meltdown. Waiter was too busy to keep up with drinks or if we needed anything. We were seated by the door so half the time people waiting for their tables were 2 ft away staring at you eat which was a little uncomfortable. Pizza was fine and filling. $5 a slice was about what it came out to be. The salad was good. I would not order the breadsticks again. In terms of atmosphere I was hoping for more a homemade vibe but was met with a Applebees look and feel.
Giordano’s is definitely worth trying if you’re visiting Chicago and want an authentic deep-dish pizza experience. It’s a large, busy restaurant, so be prepared for a wait. We waited about 50 minutes for our deep-dish pizza, but that’s pretty standard since they’re made fresh to order. The classic Chicago deep-dish pizza was excellent—rich, cheesy, and exactly what you’d expect from one of the city’s iconic pizza spots. It was the highlight of the meal. The drinks and cocktails, however, were fairly average and nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient despite how busy the restaurant was. Overall, if you’re craving authentic Chicago deep-dish pizza, Giordano’s is a great choice. Just plan for the wait and enjoy the experience.
We had an excellent experience at Giordano’s and would consider it a must-visit when in Chicago. We started with the Giordano’s Sampler, which included bruschetta, boneless chicken nuggets, cheesy garlic bread, and mozzarella triangles. It was good—nothing extraordinary, but definitely a nice option to share while waiting for the restaurant’s signature dish. The real star of the meal was the stuffed deep-dish pizza. We chose The Special, and it was absolutely amazing. It was our first time trying this style of pizza, and we were genuinely impressed. The rich layers of cheese, toppings, and sauce make it a completely different experience from a traditional pizza. Yes, it takes around 45 minutes to prepare, but the staff lets you know this in advance, and the wait is absolutely worth it. The restaurant was busy throughout our visit, so if you want to avoid waiting in line, I recommend coming outside peak meal times. We arrived at around 6 PM and had no trouble finding a table. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the food fully lived up to its reputation. If you’re visiting Chicago and want to try authentic deep-dish pizza, Giordano’s is a must.
Deep dish was amazing. Wish for being so fresh it was a tad bit hotter on the inside. Got the thin crust, something flavor wise was off so sent it back which we never do. The house salad was huge in portion and the arrinchini balls were so tasty. Would love to go back
wasn't that excited when i first went here to try their very famous pizza pie as im not a huge-huge fan of pizzas but yikes. blew away my mind on the first bite🤤 we ordered the smallest size (4 people) and went for 2 flavors (veg and non veg) - forgot what we ordered, something with chicken and cheese that was recommended by the guy who served us (extremely kind and friendly)! it was amazing. for someone who loves cheese, this is something i would eat even for a "snack"🤪✨ at first i thought it was gonna be very cheesy and ill feel that its too much but turns out not at all. it was perfect. the crust (or the pie basically) is just the perfect thickness, not too thick and not too thin. just perfect to enjoy it together with the cheesy fillings🤤 the veg option was so-so. nothing special. + do note that you have to wait approx 30-40mins to have your pizza pie baked. so be ready to wait and chitchat with your fellas! also ordered some sides (truffle fries + calamari) both were just okay. nothing special. fries was good but thats it. just ur typical truffle fries. calamari was a bit bland for us so we did put on some salt n pepper + chili flakes eventually overall? 7.8/10! will definitely come back for the pizza pie only!
