Theodora was our server and she was amazing! Suggested food for us to try to start with and all the food was soooooo good! Perfect sizes so you can sample everything. My faves were the shrimp & grits, Balkan burger, Mac & cheese and the waffles! We were here to celebrate my birthday and it was my 1st time. Definitely coming back
We had a fantastic lunch at AMBAR! We did the unlimited option which was a great deal for downtown Chicago and the amazing quality of food. The indoor area is full of hanging flowers and decor that make you feel like you’re on a getaway and the patio was beautiful too with plenty of seating. Our server Brayan hooked us up with recommendations for things not to miss on the menu (even we couldn’t try EVERYTHING in one go) and was prompt and friendly. All of the wait staff was friendly and several people checked in to put in additional drink orders or take plates. Everything we had was good, though I particularly liked the croquettes, roasted lamb and the drunken mussels. The kebabs, potato wedges, and brussel sprouts were also a hit for the whole table. Good sized plates for sharing but not so big you can’t try a lot of things. Just FYI on the unlimited drinks- only for brunch and dinner not lunch ☹️ but lunchtime has its own happy hour and the drinks were good! Loved the kiwi smash (even not as a big gin fan), and the white sangria and amber beer were sooo good too. Highly recommend and will have to try the brunch!
We had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was outstanding — incredibly вкусно, diverse, and honestly surprisingly high-level for the U.S. It truly felt like a real European dining experience, and my husband and I were genuinely impressed. Every dish was top quality, and the cocktails and desserts were just as exceptional. A special thank you to our waiter Marco — he made our evening unforgettable. Attentive, professional, and truly excellent at what he does. We will definitely be coming back!
We had an incredible experience at Ambar! The food was absolutely delicious, each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. A big shoutout to the entire team for their outstanding service. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and truly made our morning even more enjoyable. The non-alcoholic drinks were just as impressive and perfectly crafted. I highly recommend Ambar for brunch. The vibrant atmosphere was fun, energetic, and filled with a great crowd. It’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to!
