King Crab House Chicago

We decided to go last minute for my brother's and nephew's birthdays and managed to get seats at the bar. The wings, jalapeño poppers and spicy shrimp were standard good, although the poppers and shrimp weren't spicy AT ALL, no kick whatsoever. We ordered the all you can eat perch and the salmon with mussels appetizer summer special. The perch was tender but very small pieces that had no real flavor, the mussels were described as bad but I didn't try them (they were exchanged for chowder) but the salmon was perfect. Lastly, the tiramisu was good too.
King Crab House was so good. We had a couple beers, a super refreshing cucumber martini, and finished with a key lime martini that was the perfect end to the meal. The oysters were incredible. They were fresh, plump, and had the perfect bite. The cocktail sauce was awesome too, a little sweet at first with a nice kick at the end. The complimentary warm pita was phenomenal, and the peel and eat shrimp were unreal. I seriously could’ve eaten like 35 of them. Shoutout to the bartender with the mustache. I didn’t catch his name, but he was running the entire bar by himself and absolutely crushing it. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back.
Came to try out their Lent special menu cause we’d seen a cool reel about it on insta! My husband ordered the all you can eat perch with fries. I ordered off their regular menu and got the all you can eat snow crab legs with fries! We also got lobster tail each! The perch was tasteless, bland and unseasoned! Not sure what spices the chef used but these really didn’t pull through and it was like eating bland fish! Imagine all you can eat bland fish! Was disappointing! The crab legs were pretty tasty and the lobster tail was really delicious! The night was going great until the waiter dampened the mood and made the situation awkward! So every restaurant that my husband and I go to; we always share our meals! No other restaurant has ever had an issue with that! But the waiter saw my husband sharing my crab legs and was like ‘oh no you not allowed to share! Cause I have to charge you both!’. We were being told this when we were already 4 plates into the crabs and both her and the busboy had been coming to our table all night and never said anything before! So to say that at that point was bizarre! I have no problem paying for stuff but you have to let me know in advance! She was like ‘oh those are the rules,’ and we were like ‘but it’s not written anywhere, not on the menus, not on their website’, she didn’t even say it as I was ordering it! So she was like she’d talk to the manager and left! That kinda soured a night that had been pleasant up to that point! Eventually when she brought our bill, the second order of crab legs they’d wanted to charge us had been removed! But it was such a strange rule! Suffice to say, between that and the bland food, we won’t be back! Better all you can eat seafood establishments across Chicago who don’t care if I’m sharing with myself, my spouse, my whoever!!
Absolutely delicious! Please bear in mind that I am writing this from my bed at 3:42a after having just ravaged the remainder of my cold leftovers. I am still just as inspired as I was when it was fresh on my table. I want to find the chef and throw my plate at him! Absolutely delicious and worth every penny. As you can see I had the filet, medium crab legs, potatoes and broccoli. Those little pita chips they give you as a starter are decadent as well. Everything was flavorful down to the 2 pineapple lemon drops I had to drink. Evelyn was my server and she was down to earth, personable and extremely helpful when navigating the menu as a first timer. Excellent, excellent service! I will definitely return here on my next trip to Chicago!
