The service and food were amazing! I went for a birthday dinner with my friends and the staff was so accommodating and sweet! This was a very carb heavy meal for all of us, but the food was very savory. The wood fire bread was soft and delicious, the cheese filled arancini was my favorite appetizer it melted right in my mouth and was a mix of crunchy but soft! We got a margherita pizza for the table which was delicious but the rigatoni vodka pasta was my fav dinner dish! It was soft and flavorful, but I feel it could’ve been seasoned a bit better, not the best I’ve had but still a great rigatoni dish here - but either way It was still delicious and would highly recommend!
Been dying to try alla vita for years, and on this trip we celebrated a birthday. I have to say Alla vita really made it memorable. Through the reservation I made ahead of time I let them know it was a birthday celebration. They customized the menu to read happy birthday to my partner which she loved. They also gave her a delightful sweet treat (ice cream with a candle) cant thank them enough for this. The service was amazing, but what's a review if not for the food itself. The wood fires table bread was great. The sweet honey glaze really gave it a good flavor. The meatballs were okay, not bad but definitely skippable. The taste was that of a basic meat load. The margarita pizza was also just okay, I think I should've gone with one which had toppings to throw on some real flavor. The real winner was the chicken parmigiana. Paired with some rigatoni on the side, amazing. Overall a great experience for a special0 event, dont regret reserving a table here at all
Absolutely a magical dinning experience. We felt like royalty with outstanding service, amazing cocktails and food that went beyond any expectations. Worth every dollar spent. I suggest multiple coarses and cocktails with a mindset to overindulge in the decadence.
I really want to give loved it because the food was amazing, but it was so loud in the restaurant from music and tables shouting to talk over the music. The food tho? Some of the best pasta I have had in a hot minute. Their meatballs, delightful. Arancini, the best we had in the city over the week. Their Bolognese was a show stopper, best I have had in months, pasta cooked to perfection and the meat was incredibly tender and well seasoned. The olive oil strawberry rhubarb cake was superb!
Alla Vita is such a great spot in Chicago. The ambiance alone makes it worth visiting. The space feels intimate and thoughtfully designed, with warm lighting, lush greenery, and beautiful ceiling details that create a cozy yet elevated atmosphere. Jo, our server, was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we sat down. She took the time to explain the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure every detail of our dining experience was taken care of. Everything arrived promptly, and the staff checked in on us throughout the evening to ensure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Food-wise, the branzino was outstanding. Perfectly cooked with a delicate, flaky texture and crispy skin, it was light yet incredibly flavorful. Every bite highlighted the freshness of the fish and the simplicity of well-executed ingredients. We also had the ribeye, which was equally impressive—beautifully seared, tender, and cooked exactly as requested. Rich, juicy, and full of flavor, it was the kind of steak that speaks for itself. Overall, Alla Vita delivered on every level: exceptional food, impeccable service, and a stunning atmosphere. It’s an easy place to recommend for a date night or a special celebration when you want a memorable dining experience. Truly one of those restaurants that exceeds expectations and leaves you already looking forward to your next visit. 1000/10.
