Had an excellent experience at Legal Sea Foods in Chicago! Valenciaga was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of from start to finish. The service really stood out and made the entire dining experience even better. She was professional, personable, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great time. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, and the service from Valenciaga definitely deserves recognition. I’ll definitely be back, and hopefully I get her as my server again!
I was hosted by Legal Sea Foods and everything was amazing! We thought the lobster roll, crab cakes, oysters, cocktails, and dessert everything was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere inside is beautiful but the view of the Chicago River with the boats going by is an amazing way to enjoy a beautiful Chicago day. We also has excellent service from Jay W.who gave us terrific recommendations and made our experience even better! Would 100% go back! Thank you!
We came in for a late dinner, getting here around 8:45PM on a weeknight. We sat at the bar and they weren’t very busy. Our server was great! Very friendly and engaging… he did a nice job keeping up with us and offering suggesting. To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with their menu, where I normally love visiting a Legal. It might have been that I just didn’t find much that was appealing to me at that time, but I ended up choosing their Cajun Fried Shrimp. I started with a cup of their clam chowder and it was fine, but the clams had too much sand or gravel or whatever is nasty and crunchy in them, which I rarely experience in decent clam chowder. The flavor and the overall soup was great though. I just didn’t like eating odd stuff in the clams. As for the entrée, the shrimp came out piping hot and tasty. The fries were bland, soft, and boring that were with it. The cole slaw was just ok. My server said their street corn appetizer was great, so I got that to go with this. It was decent, but the cheese they used on it wasn’t good at all and was starchy and bold, not the typical cojita used in Mexican corn. Overall, it was an ‘ok’ visit.
Place is very nice and has great views! The oysters tasted very fresh! The clam chowder was lacking in flavor a little bit.. got the famous lobster roll as the main dish, the bun was good but overall just needed some more flavor or butter, ordered some mayo and definitely helped a little. Service was good, overall for the price the food isn’t there. food does take a bit so don’t be in a rush!
