I had the surf and turf (lamb chops and lobster) and it was really good. I got fried lobster and I don't like lobster, so you should know it was really good. I also got to try my boyfriends catfish and grits and, even though I'm not crazy about catfish and wouldn't buy it, that was the best catfish I ever had in my life thus far and made me reconsider my thoughts to never purchase catfish. We also had the seafood gumbo appetizer which was really good and nice. We also had the peach frozen dussé and it was really good. Malcom was our server working the bar and he is very professional and helpful. Kam is also very funny. They have great teamwork, especially at the bar. I had a great experience at our date night.
Everything was top notch, from the service [our waitress was Cyann who was absolutely amazing and sweet], to the food and drinks. The food was packed full of flavor and the drinks tasted like heaven. Ugh, I wish we didn't live so far away, or we'd dine in at least one a week here. Low-key relaxed atmosphere with R&B music that you want to sing along to. Love this place ❤️
Coming in the welcome was pleasant and we were seated as soon as the rest of our party arrived. Our server Tayy was attentive and friendly. She checked in on us and made sure our food came out correctly. NOW HERE IS THE BEST PART OF THE EXPERIENCE!! The manager JAYDA she came over and introduced her self to us and told us she was the on duty manager. She inquired about our service and our food. And she went above and beyond to provide us amazing service and even filling a request from us just to ensure we had a good experience.
My first time celebrating my 60th and was impressed once I entered the establishment I was Wow!!! My server Janae, made my evening extra special by addressing all my questions and providing suggestions on the food as it was exceptional and I have to say, I’m not accustomed to Southern food like this and I was not only impressed with the presentation but the food was beyond my experience. I will definitely be back again and again. Thanks again Kitchen and Kocktails of Chicago. DL
Listen… the prices are high as hell for chicken and mac & cheese BUT it was absolutely delicious, and a good time was definitely had. Big shoutout to Janay, our server, for being so fun, welcoming, and unapologetically Black I love seeing that energy and feeling right at home. She made the whole experience even better. Now, they’ll tell you the sides are individual portions and honestly… they are not. They’re enough for two people, it can start to feel like a bit of a money grab especially since the 20% gratuity is already included, and of course the higher the bill, the bigger the tip (and people like me usually tip extra anyway). I just like knowing exactly what I’m paying for, and to be fair, the service and atmosphere made it worth it. The drinks were amazing, but pricey, and the appetizers? Scrumptious. We had the salmon bites and dream egg rolls, and both were packed with flavor. Overall, this is definitely a spot you need to check out. I’m excited to support and see my Black people thriving in spaces like this.
