I was truly impressed by my experience at Tzuco. The ambiance is unlike anywhere else—every thoughtful detail throughout the restaurant transports you straight to Mexico. The food was exceptional. The mole is among the best I've ever had, and I say that as someone from Oaxaca. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of authentic flavor. I highly recommend trying one of the Mexican red wines—it was the perfect complement to the meal. A special thank you to Luis and Hector, whose warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. For a few hours, I genuinely felt like I was back home. I can't wait to return.
This is a beautiful upscale Mexican restaurant that’s definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a unique atmosphere. The décor is stunning, with a stylish, moody interior that creates a sophisticated ambiance, although it’s a bit on the dark side. The food was excellent overall. The burger was surprisingly one of the highlights—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The short ribs were also outstanding: tender, rich, and full of flavor. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the Fire Margarita, which is served with a real flame, making for a fun and impressive presentation. The cocktails, however, were a bit disappointing. Despite the creative menu, the drinks lacked flavor and didn’t quite live up to the presentation. The service was also just average, nothing particularly warm or attentive, especially considering the price point. Overall, it’s a great spot for a special night out thanks to the beautiful décor, delicious food, and unique cocktails presentation. Just be prepared for higher prices, and don’t expect the drinks or service to be the highlight of the evening.

Every element is thoughtfully designed, from the ambiance to the employees’ uniforms, making the entire experience feel special. The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and professional. And the food? Simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor and authenticity, with a level of quality that truly feels Michelin-star worthy. We had an amazing time, and without a doubt, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever visited. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience with exceptional food, service, and atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely delicious from start to finish. Cocktails were so good- spritz and tzuco margarita. We had the mushroom cazuela and the tetela apps- amazing. The sourdough bread with the mushroom was so soft and delicious. We had the barbacoa and costillas de res. Both fall off the bone amazing. Tres leches for dessert was so moist. Amazing service too. 10/10 highly recommend!!
Beautiful earthy interiors inspired by Chef Carlos Gaytán’s childhood hometown in Mexico made Tzuco feel warm, comfortable, yet sophisticated. Mario, our server, shared the story behind the restaurant and was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wines. You could tell he truly takes pride in this place. We came for our anniversary and regretted not visiting sooner after living in Chicago for so long. Every staff member was so kind and welcoming. The food was unique, flavorful, and never overly salty, which we really appreciated. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and each sauce had layers of flavor. Even the dessert, shaped like a real corn, was creative and full of different flavors. Definitely coming back to try other dishes, super excited!
