Lovely environment and great service. Mixed feelings with the food. The Cira appetizer for 2 was very good with assorted Mediterranean dips and very good pita bread. The sandwich was fine, however the lentils and mushroom dish was very bad, the mushroom texture and taste was off, not to say the combination of flavours does not work. The Greek wine was good. Overall a nice experience here but expected more based on the presentation of everything.
Service was great...personable and responsive waiter without being intrusive. Food was both good and also mediocre, depending on the item. Bloody Mary was better when asked for a spicy version. Omlette was more like an egg burrito, but the potatoes were seasoned well and cooked to perfect crispness. Omlette would have been better with cheese (or more cheese if it had any in there already). Salmon Benedict was very good. Fresh taste and the spinach had a great flavor. Potato cake was crunchy and not greasy. I probably would have gone lighter on the hollandaise, so maybe ask for that on the side. Sourdough toast and blackberry jam was just about perfect...I'm a sucker for sourdough toast. I don't love sausage links, but these were a nice combination of sweet and spice. Overall decent, but probably better with special requests or different entrees.
Returning to Cira in Fulton Market for the first time since October 2021, it was genuinely great to see how they’ve not just survived the post-Covid reopening era, but have truly thrived. I recently met up with five new friends here, and we had a fantastic, lively dinner. The culinary highlights were easily the famous pistachio ravioli and the goat cheese dates. Both dishes were exceptional and quickly became my favorites of the night. Other had the Salmon which they liked as well. In the spirit of a constructive audit, there were two minor areas that kept this from being a perfect 5-star experience. First, the wine pours felt a little on the stingy side. Second, ice wasn't automatically offered with the table water. However, the service team was excellent—when I asked for ice, they were incredibly gracious and happy to bring it right over. Overall, it is a solid restaurant with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. I’m very glad to see them continuing to do so well in the neighborhood and would highly recommend it.
Cira is a very beautiful, spacious, and well-decorated place. The staff is very kind. I expected more Mediterranean options on the menu, but everything we ordered was excellent! What I liked most were the pastries, the quality was wonderful! I might have to go back and try a different menu since it was brunch time, but everything was very good!
Cira is an excellent choice in Chicago when you’re dining with a group that has mixed dietary preferences. The ambience is one of the biggest strengths here—stylish, energetic, and polished without feeling too formal. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a celebratory dinner as it does for a casual night out with friends. The menu is broad and flexible, with options that work well for vegetarians alongside other dietary needs. Two standout items were the soufflé pancakes and the falafel burger, both of which were flavorful and well executed. Cocktails are another strong point and pair nicely with the overall vibe of the space. Service was smooth and efficient, making it easy to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Overall, Cira is easy to recommend for group dining in Chicago—good food, strong drinks, and a space that accommodates everyone at the table.
