Wow! I’ve walked past this restaurant so many times, and I finally decided to stop in for happy hour today. So glad I did! I had the raw oysters and the slider, and what a great deal! The oysters are only $1 each, so they’re on the smaller side, but they were fresh and had a really nice flavor. The slider and the drinks were great too. I’ll be back!
I stumbled upon this place walking back from Wrigley Field. From the outside, the place looked great and the smells coming from within were inviting. The look inside was cozy. That is where the good portion really stops. I had to seat myself (which isn't a big deal, but will be shortly) and then order from a QR code. QR code menus are more cumbersome than just having something in hand. The food came out quickly though. The fries were overly salted and the pork belly was more like a super fatty brisket. It was only ok. The beans and rice were fairly bland as well. The main problem for me was ONLY seeing someone when the food came out. We paid via the QR code. No refill, no service and THEN expecting me to leave a tip starting at 21 percent. That is a hard no for me because I did not get anything different from what would have happened at a fast food establishment. This place could be super amazing, but that portion of the experience totally ruined it for me.
Came here yesterday with my sister for a quick dinner after a long road trip. The rack platter healed me. We were helped by Luis and he rocked. He was super attentive, very friendly, and overall made our experience so positive. We liked the music too!
What a fun bbq joint. I wouldn't say it is my favourite all time bbq place in Chicago. But as a neighbourhood joint, with live music, good cocktails, and uniques takes on appetizers and side dishes - I find this place to be a perfect spot. Especially since they allow you to split bills with your party to individuals via the mobile POS for ordering and paying!
Good barbecue in Chicago Is surprisingly hard to come by. You would think that a world class city like Chicago would have a lot of good choices for barbecue, but sadly it does not. One great exception is Briny Swine. First, the food is excellent. I ordered sweet tea, the mac and cheese skillet, BBQ totchos, jalapeño chedder and bacon cornbread, 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs platter, pork belly platter and for dessert the pluff mud pie and white chocolate naner puddin. My favorites were the mac and cheese skillet, 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs platter and white chocolate naner puddin. The ribs area some the best I’ve in Chicago And you need to order them when you go. The mac and cheese skillet was loaded with brisket and a metric ton of yummy toppings. Second, the service was excellent. My server was attentive and the food came out very quickly. The ambiance was great. The restaurant had the vide of a roadside county roadhouse. I was there on a Friday and live music played all night long. This is a must visit for good barbecue in Chicago.
