I had a nice break here and ate lunch. First time in Chicago I walked all day long. I’m not mad. lol upon entering the gage it had a vibe and I loved it. The menu was so awesome I wanted everything. They were out of the seasonal tuna salad I originally wanted but I had a second pick already lined up the steak salad. THIS WAS THE BEST STEAK SALAD I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. you wouldn’t think it would be that special but it was!!!! So tasty. Oh! I also had a cup of the watermelon feta gazpacho which was also AMAZING!!!! Highly recommended. My waitress was super friendly, nice and on point. And THE STEAK WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION 🤌🤌🤌

Had lunch here and were seated right away. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order immediately. We ordered the venison burger and, honestly, I was hesitant at first because I was worried it might be too gamey. However, our server did a great job explaining what to expect, and she was absolutely right. The venison patty was juicy, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal. They also have an impressive selection of signature cocktails. I didn’t end up trying one because the drink I was interested in sounded a bit too strong for lunch, but it’s definitely given me a reason to come back later for drinks. Overall, I left as a very happy customer and would gladly return.

We discovered The Gage while walking around Chicago, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere that feels deeply connected to the history of the city, which makes the whole dining experience feel special. The food was excellent. The fried lobster was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully served. The burger was juicy and satisfying, and the dessert was a perfect finish to the meal. Everything felt fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully presented. Overall, The Gage is a wonderful spot in Chicago for a great meal, a beautiful atmosphere, and a dining experience that feels both elegant and full of character.

Great brunch spot. Was a little hesitant to eat here since it’s in front of the bean, but was pleasantly surprised! Service was amazing, atmosphere was pleasant, food was incredible. Would highly recommend the steak and eggs, hash, and especially the zucchini sandwich. All incredible!

This restaurant was recommended to us, and it definitely did not disappoint. While the prices are a bit above average for Chicago, the food quality makes it worth a visit. The vegetarian coconut curry was absolutely outstanding — my husband was genuinely impressed and called it the best dish of the evening. The broccolini was also delicious, and we really appreciated that the kitchen was willing to prepare it with regular oil instead of butter. It’s always a great sign when a restaurant is happy to accommodate guests’ preferences. The scallops were very well prepared and flavorful. My only suggestion would be to include some kind of side dish with the entrée, especially at this price point. A simple serving of mashed potatoes or another accompaniment would have made the dish feel more complete. The Spicy Margarita was excellent as well. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and inviting — the kind of place that’s perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening out. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would happily return.
