My colleague has been to Chicago several times and has shared that it is one of his favorite places. Roka Akor - Chicago did not disappoint. The service was outstanding. I never had to ask for a refill, and they seemed to time their visits just right. And the food…super good! I loved the sauce that accompanied the Prime Ribeye Steak cooked to perfection. And those Brussels sprouts were to die for. So good. So happy I had the opportunity to have this dinner experience.
Great food and service! Our server, Aaron, was helpful and energetic, showing his passion for what he does. The miso cod was amazing. I ordered the 12-oz ribeye medium rare, but it unfortunately came out closer to a medium well. However, it was still tender and delicious, especially with the sauce it came with.
LOOOVE this place!!! First off the atmosphere is sophisticated, modern, & beautiful! It deserved my review the last time I was here with my girls in 2024! The sushi is 12/10- delicate, fresh, & perfect size pieces! The edamame was perfect ! The spicy sauce for it tasted incredible! Lets talk about the DESSERT though!!! You guys!!! You HAVE TO GET A DESSERT!!! Otherwise you’re missing out! I rarely have room for dessert when going out, but after experiencing the dessert here last time in 2024 with my girls where we all ordered something different & tried each others, every single one was MELT in your mouth amazing!!!! The chocolate lava cake is a 15/10. YOU GUYS!! It actually makes me close my eyes & say, Mmmhmmmm, when i eat it!! It’s THAT good! It’s not just a plain lava cake. It has crunchy little bits in it- very creatively made! PERFECT temperature, texture, everything!!! The cream brûlée’ was OUT of this world!! I’ve NEVER tried one THAT good!! I would come here just for the dessert!!! After talking with the Sweet server tonight, I found out they are all homemade in-house, wish i got her name because she deserves a shoutout !!! She made our Anniversary/Birthday Celebration very special!!!! Thank youuuu!!!!!
This downtown Chicago Japanese fusion spot is absolutely next level. The fish? Pristine, next-level fresh. They offer an amazing variety, and tasting them from lightest color to the final tuna is a must-do—it totally unlocks the flavor profile. Seriously, every single dish is extremely flavorful (shoutout to the unreal mushroom side). Beyond sushi, the Prime Rib Eye was a perfect, juicy medium-rare, and we loved that it was served pre-cut. The vibe is chic: a cool open kitchen, and the window views of the street bathed in fall colors are stunning. Plus, the staff are genuinely friendly and take time to explain everything. Highly recommend—it's a perfect Chicago dining moment.
Excellent service and food! We checked with the staff for halal options and all their prime cuts and chiken yakatori were halal. Kathryn was excellent and ealked us through their menu for the best experience! We ordered the chicken yakatori, fingerling potatoes, prime NY strip steak and Skirt Strip steak... Each dish was very flavorful and did not have the newd for any extra sauces. The temperature on the steak was perfect, and the overall the steak was very juicy.
