This was our first time at Avec after being recommended this place all the way in Tennessee! Our server, Juan, made our experience so special. He was so knowledgeable and kind and we had a great chat about natural wines! After being sent out the dark chocolate basque cheesecake for our anniversary, we are nearly waddling back home with happy hearts and a new favorite spot under our belts! Thank you!!!
Avec River North was one of the highlights of my trip. The food was creative, fresh, and packed with flavor, and every dish we ordered was excellent. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. If you’re visiting Chicago or looking for a great meal, this place is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.
We had come here for a date night dinner. Our host Kyle was extremely nice. Atmosphere was amazing. Sunday night it was bustling and live place. Ricotta stuffed ravioli was full of flavor, freshness of pea tendrils added to the experience and texture. The horseradish was just enough to enhance the taste. Pork shoulder was excellent. The yogurt sauce. The whole dish was very well balanced. Good dish for sharing. Dark chocolate cheesecake was creamy and smooth. The tartness of the cherries and sauce made it more enjoyable. The toasted sesame seeds elevated the experience.
10 out of 10 recommend! The food is one of the kind! Our favorite is the chorizo and date. Such a creative, flavorful and layered dish. Chef is a genius for thinking of that idea. My friend and I were just visiting Chicago and we ordered one more to take back home. That shows how much we loved it.
Have been living above Avec for over a year now. First time finally going. ordered the short rib hummus. (my favorite dish). the herbs, red onion summac and hummus went very well with the tender short rib and fresh from the oven pita. Also got the Mexican Prawns and told the waitress to surprise us with a pasta dish. was pleasantly delighted with the spinach ravioli. it was light and omg. the fried artichokes i could eat like popcorn. phenomenal.. great ambiance, great date night and looking forward to coming back with a big group and trying the porterhouse and branzino.
