The clatter of rain outside made the dim lighting inside feel even warmer. Drinks were pretty affordable, and you got a decent pour for the price. A good, straightforward stop for a casual night out without breaking the bank.
Me and my friends felt so safe thanks to Megg. We had an issue with some dudes at the bar, and Megg helped us out and those guys got kicked out immediately after reporting. The best deal is getting the pass for the turtle races. they do start about an hour after listed time for the race, but you can drink before the scheduled time. it is $40/person for unlimited drinks. The bartender who kept the turtles was so nice and let us take pictures with the turtles. Best part about my trip to chicago!
Tin Lizzie is one of those places that reminds you why neighborhood bars can be so much fun. I visited for their famous turtle races, and it was definitely one of the most unique experiences I’ve had in Chicago. The races themselves are simple and only last about 20 to 30 seconds, but that’s part of the charm. Between races, there’s time to grab a drink, mingle, and enjoy the atmosphere. The race nights have an option to include an open bar, which keeps the energy up, and the crowd was clearly having a great time. The staff did a nice job keeping things organized and making the event run smoothly. What I appreciated most was that it felt like a genuine local tradition rather than a tourist attraction. It’s quirky, lighthearted, and a fun way to spend an evening with friends. If you’re looking for something different from the typical Chicago bar experience, the turtle races at Tin Lizzie are definitely worth checking out at least once.
We had a great time at Tin Lizzie’s Turtle Racing over the weekend. The bar was super festive, all decked out for Christmas! We tried some of their Christmas cocktails. I highly recommend the Yule Mule, so good! We ordered the mozzarella sticks and onion rings for apps, both were amazing. They have a wristband deal for 3 hours of unlimited drinks which included a pizza with chips and salsa. Highly recommend the wristband deal, totally worth it for only $40! Turtle races started at 7:45 pm but we got there early at 6 pm to enjoy the full package deal. The turtle races are such a fun time, cheering on for your favorite turtle which are named after the Ninja Turtles! Winners get a free shot! After the turtle races were done, the party did not stop! Shots were being poured out all night and the vibes kept going strong. We had a great time and the staff was very welcoming and kind. Highly recommend for a fun night out with your friends!
