A perfect concept and execution. Great oyster selection, even better boquerones, fun rum-based cocktails and a mean martini. I'd come here all the time if I could.
There aren't many rum bars in the city; so if that's your thing, Queen Mary's has to be on your list. The place isn't big, and you can't make reservations. But I found it cozy, and their staff is AMAZING. I used caps because they have a solid grasp on their selection and made excellent recommendations. By the way - they serve a wide variety of spirits (not just rum) but I came for the rare bottles you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere. Another thing I liked was the price; all their pours were reasonably priced. Next time I go, I'll try some of their small bites or several items from their cocktail menu.
Love to get the oysters here when I happen to be in town on Sundays. Super cool vibe and great for friendly banter with new people.
Saturday afternoon vibe unlike any I've seen. You feel cool just being there. We didn't eat, but the menu looks great- small and well thought for the size of the restaurant. Drinks are fire- service was exactly how I wanted it to be- a show behind the bar, prompt service for being so busy! Don't miss this spot if you are in west town.
Great vibe here, the menu both food and drinks are unique / old fashioned! I came here on a Wednesday night around 5:30pm. I sat at the bar, it’s a two sided bar, like a long shared table, almost. The bar tenders stand make the drinks on the inner most side, next to customers. One of the few two sided bars. Great place to come if you love gin, specifically gin martinis. I tried my first gin martini here. I do not like gin martinis it turns out. Not to say it wasn’t good. They have snacks here as well, including oysters, and crackers with cheeses. All very posh in a way but it’s still a dive feel. Great place to sit outside when it’s nice.
