The place looks spectacular, but my experience wasn't the best. We had a company dinner. We could choose from three main courses. I chose the steak, but I asked if it was possible to add another side dish (I basically wanted some greens) or simply bring me an extra plate of salad or vegetables. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible, nor was it possible to choose how the steak was cooked. That's all that was available. The food quality, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give a 6. To be totally honest, we ended up buying something else for dinner at university besides McDonald's burgers. I think that says it all…
Very great Dinner and show spot. Feels like a scene from a drama where people go to the jazz spot on a date. Food was great. The risotto balls is a perfect appetizer.
I went to City Winery for the first time to see SeJoe and honestly, I didn’t expect the part I’d remember most would be the people. I’ve been so busy with school that I really haven’t had the chance to go out or even celebrate my birthday, so this was a big deal for me. The venue was great, the seats were better than I expected, and it was just nice being outside surrounded by good comedy. But Belinda is what made this night unforgettable. When she found out we were celebrating my birthday, she made me feel so incredibly special. I can’t fully explain it, but some people just have a light about them and she’s one of those people. She was so kind and genuine and her son was also so attentive to us as well. They both made me feel truly cared for and made the whole experience that much more special. Their kindness meant more than they’ll probably ever know. I wish more companies understood how important it is to hire people who genuinely love being around others and making people feel welcome.
The service was awesome. Very friendly and very attentive. Good recommendations, too. The wine was excellent. I was excited to see a Syrah on tap! I got a flight of dry reds and all were great. The ambiance is visually very nice and relaxing, but the music doesn't fit and at times distracted from the experience. The food was very mediocre but prices were very high. Portions were very small. Even the "large plates" were way too small. My 100lb partner ate her large plate, some salad, AND desert. I came with an appetite and was disappointed. We might come back for wine and a dessert, but definitely not a meal.
We had brunch at City Winery and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We were welcomed by Franny at the host stand with a taste of Sauvignon Blanc. Their new brunch menu has solid favorites, especially the kale salad and the croque madame. There’s also a great $45 champagne deal that comes with juices and fruit, making it easy to mix up a fun brunch drink. Service was friendly and attentive, shout out to Belinda. Overall, a relaxed and enjoyable brunch experience.
