We went to chicago overnight for our five year wedding anniversary. When we arrived, they said our room was not ready yet at noon but they had an opportunity for an upgrade for an unoccupied room that just needed a quick clean. We did not receive notification our room was ready until standard check in at 3pm (we are Amex members as well and if early check in is available, we are allowed to check in early). Honestly, was not that big of a deal but then, I requested that champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and petit fours be placed in our room for arrival. They brought them after we had already arrived, again not a huge deal, but forgot the chocolate covered strawberries. I called the concierge and they said they would bring them up. On the list provided to be prior when ordering these items, I was suppose to receive 5 strawberries but only received 3. Again, not a huge deal but more of the point is I paid a lot of money to stay here plus get these items for our anniversary and did not get what I paid for. They also acknowledged me as “Ms” for the entire time even though I was very specific this was our wedding anniversary. No notes, special writing on the trays or even acknowledgment for our anniversary the entire stay. We then went to dinner else where that night and was told the house car was first come first serve. We went to see if it was available and they said it was already reserved for the rest of the night. So again, told incorrect information and it was possible to reserve the car. Any not to mention, the mini bar was half empty with half opened waters and half eaten candy bars. I would say sub-par stay and sub-par service. Very disappointed as we have stayed at many luxury hotels and this is one I don’t care to enjoy again.
I came into this place today and went to Z bar and had an extraordinary time‼️ The hospitality and service of Amber and Gabriel was absolutely outstanding! Gabriel took out the time to explain a dish that I had going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you for employing people like Amber who literally is hospitality‼️ What an amazing addition to your hotel to have these two professionals working here‼️ I highly recommend this hotel for dining experience, weddings and events‼️
We had a decadent and relaxing weekend staycation here. Highly recommend the talented masseuses who performed our couples massage. It was fun to hang out poolside and on the outdoor deck to get some sun. Can’t say enough about our Saturday night dinner on the outdoor terrace. PiPet was our server. He greeted us warmly, answered our questions about the Peking Duck menu options, and suggested divine ending to our anniversary celebration….the raspberry enveloped cake cube. The cream filling was delicious and the cake itself had an interesting twist of, perhaps, lychee.
Decided to enjoy a staycation at the Pen and it did not disappoint. Booked the hotel with Sapphire the Edit hotel collection. The whole stay was amazing and flawless (except for the problem with the TV that it keeps turning blank, technician came to fix it but the issue persist) All staff were warm, professional with attention to detail and go above & beyond to make my stay feel special. The SPA was very relaxing with great amenities. Dining at the lobby was very pleasant. Room service for breakfast was also perfect. In summary I had a great staycation, will definitely comeback to the Pen!
I booked 2 rooms for one night this past weekend so my former Northwestern residents and I could have meet up reunion in the city. We were checked in by Floyd, although checked in is not the right word. He was so welcoming and enthusiastic and professional. He went over our amenities and our complimentary upgrade we had received and told us about the complimentary car that could take us to dinner. He even took a picture of my gang, suitcases and all ,to commemorate our arrival of being together again after a few decades. He was so enthusiastic and took so much pride in his job and made us truly feel welcome. At checkout, he looked out for our group as well helping us to manage the credits we received as part of our booking package for breakfast etc. We also received a delicious fruit platter and truffles and cupcake for a birthday, so thank you Mari Razumich-Zec for also making us feel special. The hotel is magnificent, breakfast in The Lobby was delicious, and the room was amazing. Truly a special experience!
