I just had a fantastic stay at Waldorf Astoria Chicago. There are many nice hotels in the area, and I would highly recommend this one for several reasons. Location: in a nice part of downtown within walking distance of many great restaurants, shops, and attractions. Amenities: what stands out the most for amenities is probably the complimentary car/driver that will bring you within a 1 mile radius. It is first come- first served but we typically did not wait long. It was very convenient and dropped us off at our river tour location. We were quite busy around Chicago so we didn't get to enjoy the gym, lap pool, and spa; though they looked great. Room: clean and upscale, as you’d expect from a Waldorf property. Food: we only ate food at breakfast and each meal was fresh, filling, and tasted great. Service: there are many people whose service stand out. First and foremost, I’d like to thank Michel the concierge. He was very helpful in recommending activities, explaining our amenities, and was very welcoming overall. Also, I had a question regarding a benefit as a diamond member which he did not know; instead of just passing off my question, he went to find the answer from a colleague, which I really appreciated. I’d also like to thank Caitlin who helped at check-in. As a Diamond member benefit, she helped arrange a complimentary space-available upgrade, which is always very appreciated. Lastly, James and Ray in Brass Tack gave impeccable service each morning for breakfast. If you’re considering a stay in Chicago, I would strongly suggest staying at this Waldorf Astoria.
I stayed here in May and am still thinking about how great the service was at this hotel. In a world where upscale service seems to be falling off a little bit, the Waldorf was a REFRESHING. Entire staff is clearly looking for ways to go out of their way to make your stay nice. The attention to detail would rival almost any luxury hotel. From the front desk being welcoming and attentive, to the valet who went out of his way to make sure we left with waters for the road (he was not accommodating a request, he was proactively looking to take care of us). Turn down service was on point and also attentive to details. They even left a tiny cleaning cloth next to my sunglasses without asking! The restaurant breakfast was so good, it made it hard to go anywhere else. The fitness and spa facilities were well maintained. When staying at a place like this you want to feel welcomed, taken care of, and a little bit pampered. Waldorf Chicago more than delivers. Rooms are well appointed and clean. Location is safe, directly next to boutique shopping, and some of Chicagos finest restaurants are within walking distance. Had a perfect time and look forward to staying here again.
Property is beautiful and service is usually great if you are actually in a Waldorf bar or restaurant. We attended an event (veuve) at their courtyard, however their event really fell off from last year. The presentation was not the same, short cuts taken from the food, cups, size of event, decor. Last year servers were plentiful and the pours of veuve were on point. This year we had time for one last pour but because there was one server for the event, she missed us. By the time server came back to us, our time was up. They sell tickets for different times and we were told they needed time to prepare for the next set of guests. I understand and would not want to interfere with the next round of guests, but definitely noticed the decline from last year's service. Really a great experience last year, unfortunately this year they missed the mark. Waldorf has such great standards and service, that's its disappointing that this event is not up to par. We moved our party to another bar on property and that experience was a 10 ! Our server was attentive and friendly. The drinks were great, just like previous times. So don't know if its fair to give them 3 stars, because 3 is reserved soley for the event itself.
We had such a wonderful stay at Waldorf Astoria Chicago for our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel genuinely welcomed. A special thank you to Demi Devaux at the front desk. She has one of the warmest, brightest smiles, and every interaction with her made us feel valued. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and patient, fulfilled every request we had, and was especially sweet and welcoming to our baby. It’s rare to meet someone who makes guests feel so comfortable and cared for. What impressed us even more was how much the hotel paid attention to the little details. We casually mentioned our anniversary, and throughout our stay the team remembered it and made us feel truly celebrated. Those thoughtful touches meant a lot to us. The hotel itself is beautiful, elegant, and impeccably maintained. The facilities are excellent, and the service throughout the property was consistently outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was professional and genuinely hospitable. Thank you to Demi and the entire Waldorf Astoria Chicago team for making our anniversary trip so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!
We had an amazing stay at this lovely property. Everything was made better when my daughter’s accommodations elsewhere fell through for a night and DeAndre helped us make arrangements to have her join us at the hotel. We were all extremely comfortable. The service from everyone was unparalleled. We enjoyed visiting the restaurant Brass Tack several times and had a fun visit to the speakeasy Bernards.
