Very nice hotel of the marriot chain. The location is very convenient, being so close to Michigan avenue and the river walk. People at the check-in were very kind and have been always available during the stay to support us. Lobby and bar are very nice. Being Bonvoy platinum we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (greek yogurt with cinnamon roll and bagel). The room was very nice and comfortable. A fitness room is available, quite basic but functional for a quick workout.
Upside: Great staffing and attentive, great location so no need to Uber or travel by car, bed is PHENOMENAL and comfortable, very clean, and if AM EX Plat card holder it has nice perks! Downside: Outlets in room hard to find, some room views may be staring out towards another building. Overall: Positives outweigh the negatives, nice place to stay due to the location being close to everything; water taxi, attached indoor shopping mall, nice outdoor rooftop restaurant, good food, and plenty of places to enjoy close to hotel. RECOMMENDED!!!
The Gwen for our wedding = best decision we ever made! We recently had our wedding with the Gwen and had a perfect weekend. Nothing went wrong, and our guests had nothing but fantastic things to say about the guestrooms, event space, and the staff. The staff at the Gwen are so kind and genuine, and made us and our guests feel truly welcomed and celebrated. Everyone kept congratulating us, doing small special gestures, and asking if we needed anything. We had a welcome reception, wedding ceremony/cocktail hour/reception and brunch at the hotel. The location is fabulous for guests visiting as all of our guests were from out of town. We stayed in the Gwen Suite and it was perfect for getting ready for a party of 12 women. Audrey was so great to work with, she successfully worked with our families and us to create our dream wedding and we could not be more thankful.
Our stay was wonderful, but the true highlight was the personal touch. Russell, - the concierge - was our guy. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was exceptional. His thoughtful, personalized service made us feel truly welcomed and is what transformed a great stay into a memorable one. This wasn't my first time staying here, and it's always a fantastic experience. The hotel is beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and perfectly located. Highly recommend.
I stayed at this hotel the evening of February 28 and I was in town for my wedding reception. I had such an amazing experience at this hotel. The rooms were beautiful. The hotel was in the perfect Location and the service was excellent. It was by far the best customer service I ever received at a hotel. The hotel staff treated us so well and greeted us with complimentary glasses of Prosecco for the special occasion. We also had a room upgrade looking over the city. Great experience and will definitely be back for any future occasion !!
