Ray's Bucktown B&B is home away from home! We were in Chicago for a week and loved that we ended up staying at Ray's. The place is super comfortable and the staff are warm, welcoming and accommodating. I had asked for a specific sized bandage. Within a couple of hours, Ashlee returned from the store with them! That is above and beyond! Home-cooked breakfast every morning was delicious! Variety or omelets, avocado toast, blueberry pancakes, pork and turkey bacon! It was all delicious! Everyday we walked for lunch. Loved the walkable neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods with fantastic food options! The train station is a short walk, too. Hands down, Ray's B&B is a great great spot to stay with warm hospitality, clean and comfortable rooms, delicious morning breakfast, and walkable neighborhood!
Location is so convenient, off the Blue line- so if you are flying in from O’Hare, this would be perfect. It is also located near buses (73 and 74). Room: honestly felt like home away from home. You’re provided a mini fridge to store any leftovers / drinks. The bathroom was clean and I loved that there were common areas outside of the rooms. I was able to get a garage space and it was perfect since I didn’t need my car the whole week I was here. Food: the breakfast was amazing. If you want to try a little of everything, ask for half portions (thank you Ada for suggesting this!) Outside of breakfast hours, they have water, overnight oats, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juices available. Ashlee, Ada and team were honestly so helpful and welcoming, it was great. Don’t forget their stray-ish cat, Glenn, he is the best boy ever. Will 100% visit again when I’m in Chicago.
Had a GREAT stay at Ray's! I was in town for just one night taking clients to a Cubs game. All hotels in the City were either booked or VERY expensive. I felt like I was on vacation at Ray's. Great price for room, breakfast AND parking. The staff was kind and very accommodating. Recommended a great bar/location to Uber to Wrigley. I have recommended it already to friends and I'll for sure be back!
We just spent 4 nights at Ray’s. This was our first time there and it won’t be our last. The accommodations, staff and food were all excellent. It is unusual to get a full menu for breakfast at a B&B and every meal we had was perfection. The thoughtful presentation, the additional side’s (fresh fruit & pastries) and the scrumptious locally sourced ingredients were nothing short of perfection. It was one of the most comfortable and inviting places we’ve stayed at and will highly recommend it to our family & friends.
I can’t say enough positive things about this place! I only stayed two nights but it was incredible! The owners are attentive, sweet and made sure we knew about breakfast, extra amenities, snacks, etc… They had umbrellas and ponchos for us if we went out in the rain (I took them up on the poncho), plus a full kitchen that we could get hot water, room temp water, cold water, ice and snacks or drinks, WHENEVER we wanted. Their dining room/living room has newspapers, board games, books, lounge chairs and all sorts of knick knacks to look at :) the B&B is well-located just a short walk from public transportation. They serve breakfast from 8-11, one morning we left around 7:30 but they said we could request an earlier breakfast (my friend and I opted for just grabbing some fresh fruit and granola bars). We were also able to use one of their 4 garage spaces, and I appreciate that the front door has a code. They also have a large Sasquatch statue by the entrance so you can always see him from a couple blocks away 🤣 The room itself was well-equipped, clean, and spacious. The bed was suuuuper comfortable and I appreciated the oversized closet (my friend and I were in “room with a view”). This really did feel like a home away from home. I don’t know if I want to stay anywhere else in Chicago now! The neighborhood is quaint with sidewalks and tree-lined streets, little cafes and taverns and a lovely vibe. They are LGBTQIA+ friendly and progressive, which align with my own views and we need more businesses like this. Cannot recommend enough! 🩷🧡💜
