It’s a very nice hotel, clean and very well located, accesible to a lot of things, restaurants, and 5 min walk to the riverwalk and a lot of things. Breakfast was great, Maria is very friendly and accommodating, great service to make sure we are good. She gave our daughter little fidgets to play while we ate. She is the best! I would definitely comeback
Beds and room layout was fine. Room was cleaned daily. The pullout on the couch was comfortable enough. Pros: Appreciate that the front desk was willing to switch us to another room when our original room faced the back alley. The view from the second room was overlooking Clark Street and an improvement from a view of the alley. How the breakfast spread was set up looked nice. The potato medley of purple potatoes and yams was delish. I appreciate the free cold press coffee. Central to a lot of restaurants. Cons: The noise was horrible. We checked into the room and there were ear plugs. I thought, "nice! hotels don't usually provide these." Then the evening hit and I realized why. You can hear every sound from outside... conversations, cars revving, music, sirens. I don't expect soundproofing but the noise from outside was just absolutely terrible. It was hard to sleep. If the the room was too cold and we put the temp down a few degrees the heat would come on and blow hot air all around the room, which is not needed on a hot June day. Eggs were waxy and veggie sausage patties were tough. No waffle maker. There is nowhere to easily pull off to unload when arriving/checking in. Illinois Street is tight and busy so it's not easy to just stop to unload. The pull through area is only for valet. We parked in the hotel's identified self-parking garage which was one and half blocks away. Luckily, we didn't have a lot of things so walking 1.5 blocks with our luggage was fine.
This is a gem of a hotel. First time in Chicago and this Hyatt place was so welcoming. The front desk was so accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was great and honestly some of the best coffee at any Hyatt I have stayed at. Santosi at breakfast was so sweet and went out of her way to make our am meals enjoyable. Really a rock star team at this location. Keep it up everyone! I will be sure to come back here.
This is a great hotel! I’ve stayed here twice when I’ve visited Chicago and the location is perfect. It is close to many restaurants and sightseeing opportunities. It’s within walking distance of River Walk, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, and several other interesting places. Breakfast was very good and Santosi was very nice and checked on us several times. The view from our room was amazing.
I had the pleasure of staying in for 2 nights at this hotel. I would like to appreciate the excellent service provided by breakfast bearer Santosi at the Hyatt hotel. She was extremely courteous, attentive, and welcoming throughout our breakfast experience. Her professionalism, warm attitude, and prompt service truly made our morning pleasant and memorable. She was especially kind and friendly with our kids, making them feel comfortable and welcomed, which we truly appreciated as a family. She ensured everything was well taken care of and always greeted us with a smile. Thank you for providing such outstanding hospitality — it reflects very highly on the hotel and its staff.
