Reviews
It's not the trendiest corner tavern, but the high ceilings and ample seating make it wonderfully comfortable. We found a great booth for a relaxed chat. Service was friendly, and it felt like a really welcoming local hangout.
Old school pub with good variety of beer. Great for sitting at the bar to have a pint.
I recently visited Corcoran’s Grill and Pub while in town from Florida with my family, and unfortunately our experience with the service really took away from what could have been a great visit. From the moment we sat down, our waitress—the one with curly hair and a gummy bear necklace—was noticeably rude and unwelcoming. When we were ordering drinks, we were speaking politely, but she just stood there silently, almost impatiently, waiting for us to finish. There was no friendliness or even basic customer service. When she brought out a classic margarita, she didn’t make eye contact, didn’t say anything, and just dropped it off and walked away. The drink itself was extremely strong to the point that it wasn’t really drinkable. When we politely asked if it could be remade or if more mix could be added, she responded with, “Is this a complaint about a heavy pour?”—which came off as dismissive and sarcastic. It was disappointing because we were excited to visit Chicago and were hoping for a friendly, welcoming dining experience. On the positive side, the atmosphere was great, the outdoor seating was really nice, and the food was genuinely delicious. Overall, great vibe and food—but the service we received, especially from our waitress, made the experience far less enjoyable than it should have been.
Pretty good spot to go to in conjunction with Second City. Good for beers, but not mixed drinks. Great spot for a group; you can reserve spaces beforehand. For whatever reason, they have overcharged me several times. But not Griffin - he’s the only competent server they’ve ever had.
