Amazing Hostel with a great price and easy transit access. The beds are also very comfy and the environment is calm and chill. I would go again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a low budget stay in Chicago.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The location is excellent—just a short walk from a 24-hour CTA L station, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and neighborhood amenities nearby. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the common areas were well-maintained and inviting. I especially appreciated the spacious full kitchen and dedicated dining/sitting area, which made the space feel comfortable and accommodating. The host was friendly, responsive, and genuinely hospitable, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience from check-in to departure. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Chicago.
The service was amazing when checking on a loved one who was having phone issues. The staff respond quickly during business hours and were very private with their guest information. The atmosphere was like staying in a home environment with accomodations available and enforced rules to protect peace and safety. Great location for park visit and community interaction.
If you want to explore Chicago and then come back and rest, I definitely recommend this place. I stayed in the dorm room and it was very peaceful and quiet—got a great night’s sleep. The living room is also nice and quiet, a good spot to sit and chill. The kitchen has appliances, so you can cook something light. Getting downtown is convenient—there are train and bus stops nearby, and while it’s about a 40-minute trip, the accessibility makes it easy. Overall the stay was great. Highly recommend Happy Home.
This place is ok, but like a jail you can't cook after 9:30pm and you are asked not to cus even though your an adult and then theirs a moment called quiet time your not a child this piss me off also we have the freedom of speech. Also the owner of the place doesn't like when you speak your truth. But it's peaceful
