Reviews
Food was great, atmosphere was awesome, temperature was a little cold so i suggest maybe a sweater. Bands were great. We got super lucky because Buddy Guy actually showed up while we were there. We didnt have tickets, but we were able to pay the cover when we decided to eat there. If we chose not to pay the cover we would have had to leave after dinner.
About the restaurant: please try the gumbo, it is delicious, add some shrimp to it and go for it. It has pepper on it, get used to it. Lot os drinks, beers, local drinks, appetizers, burgers etc. On the show: you pay everything after the show is over. Depending of the night the tables are available anytime, but it can get busy.
We enjoyed great food and great music. It has pictures and guitars of many incredible musicians. Buddy has his awards on display too. We were lucky to see Buddy guys sing last night. Highly recommend this place.
Our visit was a sheer delight! We stopped in around 7:00, paid the cover charge to hear the 2 bands and have a bite to eat and a drink. The bands were fantastic! It was great to dance with strangers! A huge treat was the appearance at the end of the legend himself, Buddy Guy, who regaled us with a few songs. What a great sense of humor he has! A special shout out to his staff and bodyguard- they were all were so kind, so polite and alert. I was so impressed by their focus on ensuring accessibility and aiding a sight impaired guest into a table.
What a special place! Feels like a hall of fame by itself. Unbelievable. The place you are looking for, when it comes to seeing the Blues in Chicago. Saw Jimmy Burns that night, feat. Buddy. Comforting Lousiana food (great gumbo and ribs), craft beer, and friendliest staff (kudos to Mark, Maddie and the others). You brightened up some grey Chicago days!
