Watch out, cash only! Small, intimate space. The night we went, Cheryl Youngbool was singing with a really good four person band backing her. This lady has some serious lungs! It was a $20 cover and worth every penny.
No food here. Cash only and not fancy, but if you want to see some of the best blues bands and singers in the world with a $20 cover charge, this is the place to be. Their headliners are regularly in the Chicago blues HOF. Female singers with incredible blues vocals and a resume to match. Beer and drinks are reasonably priced. Get there by 9ish if you want a seat. Otherwise it’s usually standing room only.
Traditional blues club in North Chicago, mainly catering for tourists. The club's "mojo mamas" and Chicago based musicians perform here from Wed - Sun. Informal, good atmosphere. Come early to be seated near the stage. Cover charge 15$ Wed-Thr, 20$ Fri-Sun, cash only. No food, just drinks are served.
We had a really fun night here. BTS express and Laretha Weatherby played. They were incredible! We really enjoyed the authentic, semi-“divey” Blues bar experience. Bathrooms were really clean. $15/person cover charge, worth it for the incredible, talented musicians!
Damn, that gurl can sing. I really don't like live music (I'm weird) but oh my God, this bar was a hoot Sometimes music will speak to you, and it definitely did at Blue Chicago last night. What an amazing performance! Added to that, they have cold beers and an atmosphere that I have not experienced in a long time. Check out Blue Chicago soon
