12th Street Beach

They have very strict safety rules that border on unreasonable. We came here to walk along the beach but because somebody heard thunder way off in the distance the life guards very rudely kicked everyone off the beach. I can understand not allowing people in the water, but they were literally yelling at children for touching the sand. Very disappointing. Not to mention the water was full of floating garbage. This beach needs better life guards, a better cleanup crew, and more reasonable policies.
It's a great little beach with easy access, beautiful views, and it never feels too crowded. I noticed that many people arrive early in the morning to claim a good spot, so it's worth getting there early if you're visiting on a nice day. The beach also has a lifeguard on duty and public restrooms, which makes it a convenient place to spend a few hours.
