Whispers at Oak Street Beach
Chicago

The chicken tacos, exceptional. Get a couple extra tortillas, to make bonus tacos! The whole menu is fun, & serioailt appetizing. The drink selection is superb, specifically the frozen drinks, treat yourself! The vibe, you can't really beat it. Beach side, summer vibes; Miami in Chicago. Great music selections too, a lot of fun. Reminds me of childhood in Long Island, eating near the beach. Fransisco is a very friendly guy, who takes his responsibility as Manager seriously, with heart. Meaning, he absolutely exemplifies kindness, generosity & hospitality. 5 stars Ryan
Went for the watch party of the Mexico x England game. The VIP area projector transmission was terrible. At first, it just went out several times, frustrating everyone. Then it was lagging behind. It was low-quality and a bad aspect-ratio, almost a square relative to the other 4k/5k TV's that were showing it (just 2.) Above and beyond that, staff here is always a little bit disorganized and unprofessional. They tried to be polite sometimes but the scene is so hectic that they all get stressed and become curt and you pretty much end up on your own for drinks / seating / everything else. The most professional-seeming staff there were the lethally-armed security guards at the entrance. For the price of this place, and its prime location, I would expect something much more professional and cleaned up, creative, and well-played out in general. This is the main beach of the best residential downtown area of the city, and it deserves better. But as a Streeterville resident for more than 30 years and native to the neighborhood, I can unfortunately attest to the fact that there has never been any really good restaurant or bar at this spot on oak st beach. I don't know why, seems cursed; Everything that has sprouted up there over the years has always fallen on the surprisingly mediocre side of things, and this place thats there now is no different. Won't be going back again until next summer, to see if anything's changed.
