Took a ride down from the north side one afternoon and discovered 63rd Street Beach. What a great spot! It instantly moved up my rankings on best beaches in Chicsgo. Plus, Reggie's has two bars there and the patio is great. You can sit in sun or get shade by the bar. The music had an awesome Soultrain vibe going on. There was ample parking on a busy summer afternoon.
Reggie’s is a summertime staple. A great time was had! Dope vibes, music did not slack (live band on Fridays after 5p), no riff-raff…rented the cabana…no hassle. I was greeted and cared for by who is indeed a star of the show, CHLOE. She deserves the flowers for her professional and courteous service. CHLOE had the attentiveness and spirit that feels like a hug. Each staff member was accommodating and communication was effective I should be gate keeping but….I told them they would see me all summer, and you already know who I’m asking for cause you’ll invite her to the bbq’s
Had friends in town visiting the Obama Presidential Center and wanted to go a bar on the beach. Reggie's on the Beach is conveniently located near Hyde Park. Quick rideshare from our Hyde Park location. The place wasn't very busy surprisingly on a Saturday evening. But the overall atmosphere was cool with excellent views of the Lakefront and beach access. Friendly and attentive serving staff. The drinks were just okay but what you would expect from a beach bar. The music was good and inspired us to dance and have a great time. I definitely go here again it's a pretty cool spot with a vibrant atmosphere.
Go to the restaurant! DO NOT go to the carry out stand. I was told 20 minutes for my order of 3 sandwiches. After I returned 20 mins later, I was told it wasn't ready because they ran out of buns. After 40 mins out still wasn't ready, but now they've run out of bread totally. They said they'd still have my sandwiches. After an hour I finally got my food. Grilled chicken on panini (3 ⭐), Catfish sandwich on hoagie with absolutely no seasoning on the fish(2.5⭐), BYO Burger on panini again no seasoning(3⭐). You give them a name but you have to continuously run up to the counter to see if your food is ready. The fries were good, I've heard the drinks are as well. Definitely get table service because THEY. ARE. SLOW. with food at the carry out. ALSO there should not be a mandatory 20% tip on carry out food. She basically handed to me out of a window
Great place to people watch. Location is right on the beach. Has 2 areas to dine for those who may not want to sit in the sun. Poolside food. Burgers, tacos, shrimp, etc. I had the BBQ cheeseburger and the other person in my party had the catfish sandwich. Both were very flavorful though they took a over 25 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Sandwiches come with fries and tonsnof onions..i ask for them to be kept off the sandwich. They appear to specialize in frozen beverages..they were huge. We were fortunate enough to get a jazz set by a local band and they were fantastic. Staff was pleasant and professional...that goes a long way these days. Looking forward to going back on a hot day.
