Description

This tour will take you on a guided visit of the world’s best preserved Roman city, Herculaneum. This was a rich city of merchants and nobility, whose lives ended dramatically fast with the eruption of Mount Vesuvius nearly 2,000 years ago.  See the waterfront, where the remains of more than 300 people lie, who died trying to escape by sea. Explore the Samnite house, the thermal baths, the Temple of the Augustales, and the Forum. Discover the house of Neptune and Amphitrite, the Gymnasium, and much more. During this experience you can see not only stone, marble, and ceramics that survived the eruption, but also carbonized wood, and paintings and mosaics even more exquisite than those found in Pompeii.
