A nice spa, but for the price, they missed the mark on the small details! My husband booked me a massage here for a belated Mother’s Day gift (first Mother’s Day!) He was going to be in Chicago for work and we decided I’d meet him out here and we’d make a weekend out of it. First issue - I called about 1.5 weeks before to adjust my service since my husband booked the massage. No answer, so I left a voicemail (I was told from the voicemail they’re get back in 24 hours). I waited 2 days and didn’t hear back, so I called again and was able to speak with someone on the phone. I adjusted my service. When I got there in person a week later, they hadn’t actually adjusted my service. A little annoying but the massage therapist adjusted on the fly which I appreciated. The massage itself was nice but if I’m being honest, I’ve had better. I was put in a very large room that was meant for a couples massage. It was a little bright for a massage but benefit of the doubt - it’s a large high rise in a big city so no big deal. After my massage I wanted to get some lunch by the pool (which was advertised by the attendant as something you should do). There were no staff walking around the pool so I went to the spa front desk and asked if I could order and she said she’d send someone out. 20 minutes pass and no one comes to take my order so I go back to the front desk and order there (no apologies from the same person that said she’d send someone btw). Food comes out and part of what I ordered was a sparkling water with my meal and they gave me still. Not a huge deal except they had still water all over the spa. I wouldn’t have ordered a $9 bottle of water with all the water they offered. So I went back up to the front desk just for let them know of the mistake and ask that they wouldn’t charge me. They took it off the bill which I appreciate. All in all, for a luxury spa and luxury prices, I just felt they missed the mark in a few areas. I kind of felt like a bother continuing to have to go to the front desk to ask for things. It was still a good experience and treatment overall but I’d say they could improve on customer experience - especially for the price
Wonderful luxurious full-service spa at the Langham. Great jacuzzi, dry sauna, wet sauna, steam room, and heated relaxation seats.
One of the most relaxing experiences that I've ever had. The spa lounge and treatment rooms are beautiful. The therapists are kind and welcoming. The environment also smells so good. I will definitely visit again when I am in Chicago.
I adore the Langham Hotel Chicago, and my first experience at the Chuan Spa did not disappoint! Lindsey was fantastic with my scheduling process, and Miguel and Marcia were great as well. Sarah, my masseuse, was magical! She was calm, kind, and definitely helped me relax! The experience itself was fantastic, including the decor and snacks. I highly recommend this spa experience for a luxe and relaxing treat. Also, shouts out to Borgot at the front door as well who always provides great customer service.
Absolutely amazing spa space, I've been to plenty of hotel spas in Chicago and know how important additional amenities are for a true spa experience and Chuan definitely delivers. Between the multiple steam rooms, rain showers, heated pools and lounge space there is something for everyone to relax .I saw plenty of pictures of the stone lounge chairs but you need to experience them to understand how amazing they are. The massage itself was top tier and the staff are very welcoming as expected from the Langham. I was worried about other reviews saying the sounds of children from the pool were an issue with the relaxing vibes but this wasn't an issue during my stay, there is plenty of space to relax in even if there is a family at the pool.
